Le bâtiment aurait besoin de rénovation. Il est d'ailleurs à vendre... La chambre est spacieuse mais elle aurait besoin d'une couche de peinture. La salle de bain présente des tâches de moisissure au plafond. Le lit est un instrument de torture ! Mal au dos garanti !

Great location and nice, clean room. And view of the water (over roofs, but still -water views). Very helpful owner/manager.

Manageress was so helpful and friendly,,,late night checking in,, nothing was a problem,,the locals very friendly and helpful as well,,,,blocked my debit card by accident,,,,a local paid for my few bits at the local coop,,,,just shows there is still decent people out there,,,,,will definitely visit this place again and stop at the Central House .

This is the worst place I’ve been in any where in the world . The room was basically a box , dirty unkempt entrance , no breakfast , and very expensive for what u get . Stay somewhere else

It's OK for just an overnight stay,Michele was very welcoming . The pub bar and restaurant was not open so probably best to check before you book

Lovely host very helpful. Large spacious rooms, dog friendly. Near ferry terminal and shops, nice quite spot. 👍

Merci pour tout. Vous avez été super avec nous. Nous avons eu un soucis avec notre voiture électrique et ils se sont démenés pour nous aider. Et notre soirée fut très agréable dans votre pub. Pour tout ça vous méritez 5 étoiles.

Unfortunately my meal at £17 for fish and chips were below par. I would have expected real chips and the pea puree was cold. When I asked they advised this is how it comes. Very disappointed.

Had a great meal here. Wasn't expecting much as it was very quiet while the restaurant across the road was booked out. But I can tell you the quality was excellent and the serving staff were efficient and friendly. The onion rings in the place were awesome proper big home made rings. Delicious. Everybody enjoyed their meal. Steak, pizza, chicken all fantastic and the portions were very generous. One return here without doubt. All I would say is the lighting was very bright could do with toning down a bit to improve the atmosphere but this is just not picking.

Had lunch in the restaurant and found the food to be tasty and the prices reasonable. Only black mark was the ambient music. They had a CD playing (I assume), and it kept jumping and skipping through songs...very annoying!

Had lunch here mid week in October, in the restaurant area. Food was good, girl who served us was very nice. Was very quiet and staff left us to it. The CD was skipping and music was annoying for around 5 songs 😂😂 noone around to tell. Enjoyed my fish n chips though.

Stayed here as an overnight prior to catching the Skye ferry. Staff were very friendly on check-in and in the bar, but didn't seem very happy at breakfast. (Breakfast start time previously advertised as 7.30 but now inconveniently 8.00.). Food in the bar area was good and this area, plus the restaurant, were very busy. Room was functional - pretty much as expected and reasonable value for the price in this part of Scotland.

Abbiamo cenato qui una sera infrasettimanale e abbiamo trovato senza prenotazione. Prezzi leggermente superiori alla media, alternative vegetariane, di carne e di pesce, servizio veloce, qualità buona e buona birra. Direi tutto sommato tutto bene!

At very short notice our plans changed for our 25th wedding anniversary. So we went to Mallaig. Booked into another hotel for 4 nights as The Steam Inn was full. However, on our 3rd & 4th morning we had breakfast at the Steam Inn. 2nd & 3rd evening had dinner there too. Will give every detail possible. At every visit we were attended to as soon as we walked in. Gave us good time to decide & took our orders very attentively. Any request was no trouble at all. 1st morning, hubby ordered kippers but they were finished (thats because we left breakfast till very late morning) so both of us ordered toasted muffin with poached eggs & hollandaise sause and requested for smoked salmon to be added. Poached eggs were 100% perfect. Not snotty but beautifully runny, muffins lightly toasted, plenty moist smoked salmon, fresh spinach leaves, lovely hollandaise sauce and beautifully presented...with fresh lemon. After serving our breakfast waiter made a point off coming over to check if all was okor if we needed anything else. Now that's customer service. Not only that we had small chit chat too. 2nd morning I had the same but asked for half portion as they are very generous. Again, the same presentation, prefect poached egg etc Hubby ordered porridge. It blew us away. Porridge came with lightly sprinkled fresh summer berries & a bottle of honey to squeeze on any amount at your own leisure (u can order maple syrup, sugar or salt too). It wasn't stoggy or too runny...just perfect....as expected. Dinner on both nights we had Cullen skink soup for starters. Very tasty & generous portion. Only disappointment...not enough fish & too many tatties. Main course...fish n chips. Nice crispy battered fish, with minty mushy peas, fresh lemon and best chips we have ever had...fresh potato chips...again....perfect. The cooking standards are same at every meal times, ingredients used are definitely fresh & locally sourced. Service is impeccable. We had a great banter with Gary & Colin. They made us feel sooo comfortable. The staff are very well trained...very polite. Next time we will book at The Steam Inn for sure. Rooms look fab along with a beautiful beer garden. Prices are cheaper than most of the other places. I would however recommend the owner to upgrade the seating fabric & tables. Highly recommend this place for friendly atmosphere, perfect customer service & 5 star food. Thanku guys...keep it up...see u again...very soon. Sam & Omar.

cool place with great rooms, the only downside: one of our rooms was facing the bar which was loud til early morning hours, the other faced the backyard where the exhaust from the kitchen made it impossible to leave the window open both in the evening and morning

Called in last night (Monday 4th Sept) around 7-8pm. Food and drinks both excellent. Sadly, the whole experience was ruined by the young guy behind the bar who provided the single worst customer service I think I’ve ever experienced in my life. He had to be coerced into life to actually acknowledge me, the rest was dismal. To say he didn’t care was is an understatement. Once I’d finally got his attention on the second visit to the bar to order food, he took the entire order with his back to me and couldn’t be bothered to turn round to face me. So, great bar and great food but overshadowed by one ridiculous member of staff, (all the others were great by the way). Should management reading this wish to contact me, then please feel free, I’d love to give you more details.
